Pro/CABLING is not that intuitive - which is why it can be difficult to learn. Spools, Cables, Harnesses, and Wires all seem to get mixed up in your head. However, the tutorial does a good job of breaking down the organization of objects within an assembly. It is actually a pretty logical module once you get used to it.
For most designers and engineers, the majority of their day is spent in the Pro/ENGINEER window hammering out models, putting together large assemblies, or attending to the painstaking details of a 2D drawing. Others get the fortunate task of routing cables through an assembly or even creating a CNC path to mill out features on a part. But one of the cooler and more fun things to do is actually run a Mechanica analysis on those parts and see what they will do in the real world.
There are a lot of users out there that use the Student and Personal editions of Pro/E to learn and become better prepared for their upcoming careers in the Mechanical Engineering world. PTC is great about allowing engineers to learn the power of Pro/E on a tight budget.
