Basic Assembly 1

First in the ProE Assembly series, this tutorial covers creating a basic ProE assembly and placing a component in that assembly.

The techniques covered in this ProE Assembly tutorial present the first steps toward assembly creation using ProE. It shows how to use basic ProE Assembly tools that allow the user to begin building an assembly. It also demonstrates how to set up the ProE Assembly environment prior to creating it in order to allow for simple and efficient design changes that will occur later on in the design cycle. Once this set up is complete, the ProE Assembly model can then be built.

A “robust” ProE Assembly is one that consists of proper constraints placed on all components in that assembly. This is the type of ProE Assembly that we focus on creating in all the basic ProE Assembly tutorials regardless of how many components are used. The subsequent ProE Assembly lessons will allow you to build an assembly using basic techniques learned in this first lesson. This ProE Assembly tutorial provides the tools that are the building blocks to creating all types of assemblies in ProE. Mastering the basic skills introduced in this ProE Assembly tutorial will allow the user to utilize the more advanced functionality with much greater efficiency.
