Intro To Pro/NC
In the Pro-E Assembly environment, Pro-E reconstructs an assembly every time you retrieve it or regenerate it. During reconstruction, Pro-E can detect a missing component, the inability to place a component, and failed regeneration of assembly features. This Pro-E Assembly tutorial will discuss each problem type and ways to deal with them. Missing components cause Pro-E Assembly regeneration to fail. A component may be missing because it was misplaced in the directory tree, renamed, or deleted from the storage location. Another cause for Pro-E Assembly regeneration failure is when a component cannot be placed due to a missing reference feature or incorrect placement constraint. If this occurs, Pro-E is saying it does not know how to place the component and a error message will appear on the command line and the feature resolve menu will also appear. Finally, another type of Pro-E Assembly error is when the system cannot regenerate an assembly feature. When you retrieve an assembly, you may not be able to regenerate a feature such as a datum or a hole because the part or a part feature that it references has been deleted or the part feature is suppressed.
