Intro To Pro/NC
ProE Behavioral Modeling is an exciting Extension for ProE that allows users to Optimize Geometry for specific design goals. This tutorial investigates creating an enclosure that is optimized according to internal Volume requirements. With any speaker enclosure design, the volume of the enclosure is critical to developing the best sounding bass response. This tutorial begins by explaining in detail what exactly ProE Behavioral Modeling is and what is can do for you. We begin with a case study where we have specific design requirements for the project. Instead of going through the typical iterative design process to meet those goals, we incorporate the use of ProE Behavioral Modeling to quickly find the optimal solution for us. The lesson begins by creating a simple Analysis Feature. This feature is just like any normal ProE feature in that it is displayed in the Model Tree and can have Relations drive it. A Feasibility studied is performed to determine if we can meet our required goals. A ProE Behavioral Modeling Sensitivity Study is also run to determine which dimensions have the greatest effect on our overall design requirements. Finally, we run an Optimization to determine the exact dimensions of the geometry to meet our goal. Once completed, the model is automatically changed to reflect the optimal dimensions. By running the ProE Behavioral Modeling optimization analysis, the iterative process of changing dimensions has been dramatically reduced.
