Importing 2D Drawings

Continuing from the first tutorial in this series, this lesson covers Pro Engineer Import of non-Pro Engineer drawings into the Pro Engineer environment. In addition, also covered is importing information into an existing native Pro Engineer drawing.

ProE Tutorial on Importing 2D Drawings

Often times a vendor or supplier may send you a drawing you need to open in Pro Engineer. Pro Engineer Import supports several different file types into the 2D drawing environment. Pro Engineer Import drawings do not contain the same intelligence as a Pro Engineer part file, however you can view and manipulate the imported file. This may be helpful as you can copy features from the drawing and use them to rebuild a Pro Engineer part.

This Pro Engineer Import tutorial demonstrates the importing of 2D files such as IGES, DXF, and DWG. The lesson also shows how to import files into an existing Pro Engineer drawing so you can utilize that information without having to recreate it.
