Pro/ENGINEER Mechanism allows users to design and analyze kinematic motion within their assemblies. By utilizing unique assembly constraints, you can better understand the range of motion and possible collision of parts in your assembly. The Mechanism Tutorials takes the Pro/ENGINEER user through all the steps necessary to analyze their mechanisms, including:
- Connections and Joints
- Degrees of Freedom
- Running an Analysis
- Playback of Results
- Collision Detection
By using joints within your mechanism, the Pro/ENGINEER assembly will allow you to drag components so you can visualize how the parts will move once drivers are placed. Drivers are similar to Servo Motors in which you can designate physical attributes such as Position, Velocity, and Acceleration. Once the mechanism has been properly configured, it is easy to run the analysis and playback the results. As an added bonus, Pro/E allows you to create a movie (MPEG) of the Mechanism so you can review and share the analysis with others.
