This is a 23 page ProE Mechanism Tutorial on creating Kinematic motion for an engine assembly.

ProE Tutorial on Mechanism Design II

This ProE Mechanism Tutorial instructs you how to create a kinematic mechanism of a engine assembly. 5 components are assembled using connection joints instead of the normal assembly constraints such as Mate and Align.

Once the joints are properly configured, a servo motor is created to drive the piston through its range of motion. The servo motor is controlled by velocity and analyzed through 2 strokes.

The final ProE Mechanism is used to create a playback where the user can check for interferences through the range of motion. In addition, a movie file (MPG) can be created to redistribute the animation of the motion to users who don't have ProE.
