Intro To Pro/NC
PTC’s release of Pro/ENGINEER 2000i2 is the update to Pro/ENGINEER 2000i. This ProE Tutorial release is a refreshing combination of increased functionality with a decrease in user input. This 32 page ProE Tutorial is targeted for existing 2000i users and will introduce some of the new functionality available in Pro/ENGINEER 2000i2. We begin the ProE Tutorial by explaining the new functionality within Part mode. First off, you will notice the use of “templates” for new parts. This is a great way to automate the setup for creating new parts and enforcing standards within an organization. In addition, there is a new “Preview” option when browsing through parts so you can visualize the object before opening it. Once the model is opened, first notice some changes with the Model Tree. Now you have the ability to Drag-And-Drop features within the Model Tree. Family Tables have also been dramatically revamped. The new editor makes adding and updating instances very quick and easy. Sketcher has changed quite a bit as well. Gone are the cascading menus, with icons replacing the old archaic user interface. The user can edit dimensions of a sketch simply by double-clicking on them. In this ProE Tutorial, Constraints are neatly organized into a new dialog box and readily available for quick manipulation. Assemblies have had some interesting and valuable changes. You can now use “Automatic” constraints to quickly assemble new parts. Once oriented, parts can be assembled with Snapping functionality. Finally, we demonstrate the use of the new associative “Shrink-Wrapping” functionality for assemblies.
