 Piping: Piping Basics 2

Piping Basics 2

Once you have completed the first Pro E Piping tutorial, move on to this great lesson which introduces new and easier routing techniques for Pro E Piping…including the new EZ Router.

ProE Tutorial on Piping Basics 2

In this Pro E Piping lesson we add another pipe to the balloon pump assembly that you created in the first Piping tutorial. We will again use the Pipe Extend command to route the pipe, and we will also introduce another important tool, EZ-Router. In this Pro E Piping lesson we assume that the user now has a basic understanding of the piping system.

Building upon the learning from the first Pro E Piping tutorial, we take a situational approach:

The thermal engineer on the project has tasked you with routing the final pipe with one consideration in mind. He has made a calculation and is worried that the compression of the air as it passes through the pump will overheat it, causing the rubber balloon to melt and burst potentially injuring a small child. His solution is to use the last section of pipe as a convective and radiating heat transfer element. Therefore, he has asked you to make the pipe section very long, yet still fit within the box. He wants a proposal by tomorrow so that he can use it for his analysis and presentation to his boss. Here is where you will use the power of the EZ-Router.
