Intro To Pro/NC
Creating SheetMetal parts within ProE SheetMetal can be frustrating at first with out the proper training. This ProE SheetMetal tutorial is the first in our series to help alleviate the initial learning curve of ProE SheetMetal. Once completed, you will have an excellent foundation for rapidly creating ProE SheetMetal geometry. We begin by introducing key terms from ProE SheetMetal, such as Bend Relief, K-Factors, and Bend Tables. The tutorial then advances to lessons on creating basic Flat and Extruded SheetMetal walls. As the training progresses, you will learn about proper bend relief so your features will not fail and the model will flatten properly. Next, we will cover the use of twisted walls and extending walls. A ProE SheetMetal twisted wall is one that can be hard to model but with this feature it has taken the brainwork out of such a feature. Sometimes you also may get small gaps that you will want to close up. Being able to extend a ProE SheetMetal wall from its given width can help in such a situation. Finally, we conclude by introducing Swept Walls. This type of feature, similar to a swept protrusion, adds to your ability to create complex ProE SheetMetal geometry. Once all of the walls have been developed, we show you how to create a flat pattern for manufacturing.
