Constant Wall Thickness Part

This ProEngineer Tutorial takes the new ProEngineer user through a basic protrusion, round set, mirroring, and shelling of a thin walled plastic part.

ProE Tutorial on Constant Wall Thickness Part

Third in the Basic Modeling series, this ProEngineer Tutorial adds to the list of new features available to the ProEngineer beginner. Many different topics are covered in the creation of a simple thin walled plastic part.

The ProEngineer Tutorial begins with the creation of a simple protrusion. Symmetrical geometry is utilized within the Intent Manager (sketch)setup. Round sets are created to enhance the manufacturability of the part. Two holes are created and the mirror functionality is used to speed up the design process.

A cross-section is created to show the thickness before and after the shell feature. Since the part will be molded, we need to ensure a constant wall thickness.

Just as order of operations is important on the manufacturing floor, so is the order of feature creation within ProEngineer. This ProEngineer Tutorial shows the different results obtained by using the re-order function.
