The Cellular Phone

This Tutorial Covers the ins and outs of Developing High-quality Sweep Geometry for use in Consumer Products.

ProE Tutorial on The Cellular Phone

This Pro E Modeling tutorial is a 33 page training guide that covers a wide variety of advanced Pro E Modeling topics. We begin by covering Advanced Datum features. These Pro E Modeling features include datum curves, graphs, and evaluates. Internal datum planes are created and are only visible when the feature they were created in is being redefined. They do not show up as features in the Model Tree.

The main Pro E Modeling feature of this model is a Variable Section Sweep. There are several attributes that are covered that typically baffle the newer users. Normal to Origin Trajectory is an option used to control the cross section of the geometry that is being created. With this option, there must be at least one more trajectory. The cross section is normal to the origin trajectory as it sweeps along the two trajectories. The other trajectory known as the X-trajectory enables more control over the geometry feature. The Pivot Direction is the control over the Y-axis of the section. A plane is chosen to control the cross section geometry and the section is always normal to the plane as it sweeps along the trajectory.
