This ProE Modeling tutorial is a 34 page training guide that begins to investigate “Design Intent” when creating more advanced features with ProE Modeling. This means that before creating the part, certain design considerations should be reviewed to produce the most “robust” model. In doing so, you will be left with a model that regenerates predictably and can be easily modified and changed. This includes best practices with sketching orientation, parent-child relationships, dimension references, depth options, feature order, and general ProE Modeling.

This model utilizes several different types of patterns. You will create a basic pattern as well as a two-directional pattern. You can also automate your feature creation and incorporate design intent with the use of “Reference Pattern” functionality.

The shell feature is an option that will give a model constant wall thickness. It is important to add certain features before and after the shell feature. Depending upon their location in the model tree will dramatically change the end result. This ProE Modeling tutorial demonstrates the importance of feature order creation.
