 Surfacing: Helical Sweeps

Helical Sweeps

This Expert ProEngineer Modeling tutorial teaches you how to create a complex coil with multiple helical sweeps.

ProE Tutorial on Helical Sweeps

Often times it is necessary to create additional geometry to get the desired end result. In this case, ProEngineer does not have an out-of-the-box command for creating ProEngineer Modeling such as a helical sweep along another helical trajectory. As a result, you must create construction geometry to help model the part.

In this ProEngineer Modeling tutorial you will learn how to utilize surface geometry and sketcher relations to create this fairly complex coil. You will create ProEngineer Modeling features such as the variable section sweep, helical sweep, and swept protrusions. In addition, you will also investigate the use of relations in sketcher to create a ProEngineer Modeling feature that varies along a curve.
